VISIT DENMAN COLLEGE

Federation Representative: Mrs Kathy Reed
Denman College is the WI residential lifelong learning centre; a handsome Georgian mansion, with modern teaching and accommodation
facilities. It is set in 17 acres of glorious parkland.
It offers the opportunity to study, two, three or four day courses, some offering accreditation, in a friendly atmosphere and enjoyable
surroundings. Denman Open Study Programme runs courses for GCSEs, A Level and other subjects with day workshops and home
study supported by tutors.
(Overnight accommodation can be arranged).
The Denman College Programme starts in October and a copy is included with WI Life. Additional copies can be obtained from the
Denman Representative as above. It also contains an Application Form and gives guidance on when and how to apply for the courses, with
information about the College itself and how to get there.
Telephone enquiries can be made to the college on 01865 391991 during normaloffice hours. Aternatively, courses can be booked via the
NFWI website and paid for by credit or debit cards – www.theWI.org.uk/college.
Early application for courses is recommended, as they are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Those using the Long Distance Travel
Scheme (three or more members sharing a car, the college will pay £25 towards the journey – details in the programme).
WI members may be accompanied by a guest, male or female. They need not take the same course, but must attend at the same time. There
is a surcharge for non-members.
Members with disabilities are welcome. Ramping is available and there are two-twin en-suite bedrooms specially designed for the student and
her carer. A loop system is available in two of the lecture rooms to assist those with hearing difficulties. The visually impaired and those with
hearing difficulties are welcome to bring their Guide Dog or Hearing Dog. A tactile map of the college grounds is available.
