VISIT TO AGATHA CHRISTIE’S HOME, GREENWAY
Friday 18 May
Another chance to travel back in time and glimpse into the private holiday home of the famous and well-loved
author, Agatha Christie. We will travel to Dartmouth by coach and on arrival we will take the 10.45 am River Boat
Ferry to the house.
From Greenway Quay there is an 800 yard walk up to the house which is steep in places, partly following a
winding, bark chip path through the surrounding woodland, but has plenty of benches along the way.
Arlington Court and the NT Carriage Museum
Wednesday 11 July
Arlington Court is an intriguing Regency house set in a picturesque19th. century landscape. Inside the house
brims with interesting treasures, whilst outside the restored to fully-working walled kitchen garden, the Victorian
formal garden and the National Trust Carriage Museum housed in the restored stable block can all be found close
by. Although weather-dependent, both carriage rides and demonstrations are regularly given by the stables team.
Similarly, the gardeners provide guided tours of the kitchen garden explaining its restoration and the destination of
its plentiful garden produce.
The licensed Old Kitchen tea-rooms serve a wide selection of refreshments including light lunches. Family and
friends welcome.
